There is a reason why the pony tail is a classic: It’s easy, elegant, and unfussy. But a new twist on the old take has everyone talking and transforming the traditional form into an sophisticated style option. To elevate the classic pony to new heights, try the tail spin twist:
Start It Right
Run a quarter sized amount of fantasticstyle™ Smoothing Gel through damp hair to provide volume and body. Blow dry hair using a round brush to add additional movement and lift.
Tie It Back
Creating a center or deep side part, smooth back the hair using a brush. Position the ponytail at the nape of the neck (or higher, depending on the desired effect) and secure with an elastic. Note: Avoid brightly colored elastics, as they look juvenile rather than elegant.
Flip It
At 1/3 the length of the pony tail, gather the hair between your fingers and bend in an upward movement. (This will create a small bun-like pouf at the base of the ponytail.)
